USGS 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) Update & Briefing

Joint meeting between the 3DEP Coalition and the Flood Map Coalition

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) officials will provide an update on the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP), the nationwide light detection and ranging (LiDAR) program, which provides the high-resolution ground data for accurate mapping. Of the program’s 600 business uses and public benefits, the top two uses of 3DEP data are FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) connection to “flood risk management” and “Infrastructure.” With a 5:1 ROI, attend to find out why half of the country has been mapped to the 3DEP standard and to hear when the other half of the country can expect to also be covered by the USGS 3DEP.
