Our second webinar in our series about communicating the importance of investing in infrastructure was April 3rd. The Value of Water Campaign’s Emily Simonson and Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District’s Jen Elting joined Infrastructure Week’s Communications Director Abigail Gardner walked participants through a number of best-practices for creating a persuasive message around infrastructure, some tips we’ve learned from polling and focus groups, and ideas for how to communicate during infrastructure week.

NEORSD also shared some tips for how to host successful Infrastructure Week events based on their past years of participation. From ambitious daily tours of the sewer system, complete with underground #SewerSelfies, to Sewer University presentations that provide a deeper dive into explaining the sewer system, NEORSD has tried a number of creative in-person events to engage stakeholders. Listen to the recording to get more of Jen’s tips for what has worked well from NEORSD’s experience.
